Why should anyone pre-plan or pre-pay a funeral?

1. To beat inflation - This feature (pre-funding) guarantees that the interest earned on your pre-arrangement investment, will be sufficient to cover any rise in the cost of the funeral home charges, due to inflation. At the time of death, if there is a deficit (due to inflation) of the then current day funeral home prices, your family DOES NOT have to make up the difference. If there is a surplus in the account vs. the then current day cost of funeral home prices, the family or estate will receive a refund of the surplus monies on any "revocable" arrangement. Cash Advance item or 3rd party charges (ex. Cemetery, Church, Clergy, etc.) are not covered under the above guarantee.

2. To lessen the burden - Decisions on funeral arrangements and costs can be made today, so that family members will not have to deal with these difficult decisions immediately after the loss of a loved one.

What are the requirements?

ADVANCE-PLANNING - is not insurance, so there is no age limit or medical exam.

Can ADVANCE-PLANNING be cancelled?

Yes, you can, without penalty, unless it is an irrevocable Medicaid Trust.

If I relocate, can I use pre arrangements to pay for a funeral somewhere else?

Yes, you may transfer your pre arrangement to any of our affiliated homes. Or, if you choose a different funeral provider who may not be able to offer the exact same funeral with our guaranteed price.

Do you allow time payments?

Yes, The total amount for the Pre-Funded funeral is stated in the agreement and you may pay in installments without finance charges.

What happens if someone dies out of state?

We will make all arrangements to transport your loved one home. We are a member of 2,500+ strong network of funeral homes. You pay only the actual shipping charges (at a professional courtesy rate), plus any cash disbursements.

What is the next step?

An experienced Advance Planning Counselor will help guide you through all of the considerations and alternatives, in your home, or at our office.

2. A written agreement is then presented for your approval.
Payments can be made now, or in monthly installments over a one year period.

3. Your funds are deposited in an FDIC Insured Bank and you are the owner of this separate Trust account. Riverside Memorial Chapels receives the funds only at the time of death. All pre-arranged funeral merchandise and services are guaranteed without additional costs to you.
